Get paid.
Get a nod.

Every payment lands with a chime and the payer's real name, so you know it's real before you hand over the goods. No waiting for a bank alert.

Scan, say or paste

Point your camera. Pay.

No more typing numbers from a scrap of paper or squinting at a shop sign. Nod reads the account number for you, hears it when you say it, or pays straight from a QR code.

Scan an account number

Handwritten, printed or on a screenshot. Nod reads it.

Point your camera at a note, a receipt, a shop sign or a WhatsApp screenshot. Nod picks out the 10 digits, spots the bank name if it's written there, and shows you the account name before you pay.

Is Nod a bank?

Nod is a payment app. Your money is held at Rubies Microfinance Bank, which is licensed by the CBN, and your Nod balance is recorded in your name.

How much does a transfer cost?

Sending to another bank is ₦15 under ₦5,000, ₦30 under ₦10,000, ₦80 up to ₦50,000, ₦105 above that. This includes the ₦50 stamp duty on transfers of ₦10,000 and above. Sending to someone on Nod by @username is always free. You'll always see the fee before you confirm.

What do I need to sign up?

Your BVN or your NIN, a phone number and a quick selfie. That's it.

Can Nod read an account number from paper?

Yes. Tap Scan on the Send screen and point your camera at it: handwriting on paper, a shop sign, a receipt or a screenshot. Nod picks out the 10 digits, finds the bank and shows you the account name before you pay. You can also paste a WhatsApp message with an account number in it.

How do I take payments with a QR code?

Open My QR in the app to show your code, share it, or print it for your shop. Customers with Nod scan it and pay you in seconds. Anyone else can scan it with their phone camera and see your account number to pay from any bank app. You can also set an amount and send it as a payment request.

Can I use Nod for my business?

Yes. Add a business from your profile and switch between personal and business, like accounts on Instagram. Each business gets its own account number, @username, QR code and balance. Start with no paperwork, or add your CAC number (BN or RC) to get verified with higher limits. You can have up to 3 businesses.

What does a business pay?

Nothing to open. A business pays 0.5%, up to ₦100 on each bank transfer it receives, and Nod payments (scan to pay, @username) are free. Moving your own money into your business is always free. Personal accounts never pay to receive money.

How does Nod protect me from scams?

Before you pay, Nod checks the account name against the name you were given, and warns you if they don't match. If other Nod customers have reported an account as a scam, you'll see that before you send, and you have to choose to go ahead. Picked the wrong person or got scammed? Use Report a problem on the payment: the sooner you tell us, the better the chance of getting it back.

How do I know a payment to my shop is real?

Open the cashier screen on a staff phone or tablet: payments appear as they land. Payments made on Nod inside your shop show ✓ Paid here, so you know the money arrived, not a screenshot. Any Nod receipt can also be checked at getnod.co/verify.

What is the Real shop badge?

Businesses can put their shop on the map in the app. When different customers pay a business on Nod inside its shop, it gets the Real shop badge, so buyers know there's a real place behind the name. Shops on the map show up in Shops near you, with their opening hours.

What if a transfer fails?

The money comes back to your Nod balance automatically. You'll see it in Activity.

Can I buy airtime, data and electricity?

Yes: airtime and data on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile, prepaid and postpaid electricity for all 12 electricity companies, DStv, GOtv and StarTimes, and WAEC and JAMB PINs. Prepaid tokens and PINs show in the app and come by SMS too. If a purchase fails, the money is back in your balance straight away. Bills count toward your daily limit, with a daily bills cap of ₦20,000 on Tier 1, ₦100,000 on Tier 2 and ₦1,000,000 on Tier 3.

Can I just say the account number?

Yes. Tap the mic on the Send screen and read the number out loud, with the bank if you know it ("zero eight one… GTBank"). Nod turns it into digits, finds the bank and shows the account name before you pay.

Why does Nod say a bank is slow?

Nod watches how transfers to each bank are going right now. If a bank is slow or failing, you'll see it on the Send screen before you pay, so your money doesn't get stuck. If a transfer still fails, the money comes back to you automatically.

I'm not getting the SMS code

On the code screen, tap Send it on WhatsApp and we'll send the code to the same number on WhatsApp instead. Use the newest code you receive.

Your money, one nod away.
