Who we are

Nod is a money app. Banking services are provided by Rubies Microfinance Bank, licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Your money is held in an account in your name at Rubies Microfinance Bank.

Using Nod

  • You must be 18 or older, with a valid BVN and a Nigerian phone number.
  • One person, one account, on one phone at a time.
  • Keep your PIN secret. Anyone with your phone and PIN can move your money. Nod will never ask for your PIN.
  • Tell us straight away if your phone is lost or you see a payment you don't recognise.

Limits and fees

  • Tier 1: send up to ₦50,000 a day, hold up to ₦200,000.
  • Tier 2: send up to ₦200,000 a day, hold up to ₦500,000.
  • Tier 3: send up to ₦5,000,000 a day.

When something goes wrong

If a transfer fails, the full amount, fee included, comes back to your balance. To report a problem with a transfer, open it in Activity and tap Report a problem. Most cases are sorted in 1 to 3 working days.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from You. Move your balance to an account in your own name first. We keep records for as long as the law requires.

Your privacy

We collect what we need to open and run your account, and to meet the law:

  • Your name, date of birth, BVN and NIN, checked with our identity partner.
  • A selfie, to confirm it's really you.
  • Your phone number, email and home address.
  • Your transactions and the phone you use Nod on.

We share these only with the companies that help us run Nod (our partner bank, identity checks, SMS, email and notifications), and with authorities when the law requires it. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

You can ask to see or correct your data at any time. Talk to us from Help.
